Fire Extinguisher
It’s a different kind of pain
When the one person who said they would never leave
Left.
The person who said they would always answer your late 911 calls
Stopped picking up.
The one friend,
Who promised to hold your hand and walk through the fire together forever
Ran, when the flames got too big.
Why?
They were supposed to be your one and only,
Your ride or die,
Your fire extinguisher.
But I guess you learn
That even the fire extinguishers,
Go up in flames.
