Special to Me
Brooke. A short, one-syllable name. Simple. Basic. Not special. It’s the type of name that you could hear and not think twice about.
Yellow color radiates off the name Brooke, but not the bright obnoxious yellow you might think of. It’s more of a pale yellow. The pale yellow that has a warming base to it, but with an undertone that shares a soothing, cool feeling. Relaxing to the soul. Happy.
The sound of Brooke sounds heavy yet light. Brooke. It has a put-together look, each of the 6 letters fitting together in a way that just makes sense. Not in need of one letter more, or one letter less. Complete.
The name Brooke moves in a fast and calm motion, like a racecar coasting effortlessly down the race track. Going overly fast yet undisturbed and peaceful.
It's like a river. A river found deep inside a green-filled forest, far away from civilization and raw with nature. Lively and booming with life. It has its days when the river is a calm, clear, steady rush of water. Put together, in line, and peaceful. But then are the occasional days it storms, the river turning into a muddy, rushing, river. A flooding mess that can’t be controlled.
My name is like when you find pants that you know were made for you. Jeans. So hard to find the perfect fit. The waist may be too tight while the thighs are too big. An itchy material and the wrong length. But when you put that pair of jeans on and they’re comfortable, they fit like a glove, they suit you, there is no question that you’re leaving without them. They just fit too perfectly.
Brooke is me. The pale yellow. I’m a pretty happy person, always finding something to laugh about, and having a good time. Having a more relaxed and easy-going side like the racecar. But I’m also like the river. Days where I am calm and can think straight, thriving in what I’m doing. Days when I’m overly stressed with school, people remind me to relax, be quiet, and I have a hard time sitting still. A mess.
Brooke. A short one-syllable name. Simple. Basic. Special to me. My story. It’s who I am.
