Good Morning
What if I told you,
Just before six,
The sky turns rosy
With wakening blush,
And the sun pokes out
Its bright orange nose
Between two peaks.
And what if I told you,
When it sees fit,
The sun paints the sky blue,
And a river between the peaks
A dazzling silver,
Splashing purple on snowy granite,
The color of a steam engine.
And what if I told you,
When the sun warms the earth,
A city throws off
A chilly blanket of fog
And sends and army of taxis
For people to ride to work in.
If I told you all that,
Would you follow me to
The top of the city,
The top of the world,
To watch the sun awake
And paint the sky
And cityscape?
