Forgive us
Dear Amazon Rainforest,
I fear for you,
Mainly about what you’ll become
If all this destruction continues.
I’ve only seen pictures of you,
But you’ve never seen me,
though I am part of the reason
You are in this predicament.
Let's be honest,
Your resources are greatly appreciated.
Yet taken for granted,
Being constantly abused.
I’m sorry for your loss,
A lot of your family is gone,
And that isn't because of you.
Us.
People need you,
But we shouldn't have done this to you.
When I think and hear about you,
Deforestation, fire, and loss ring throughout my head.
Sorry.
On behalf of us.
