Regret sinking in,

Slowly eating me alive,

Courage long forgotten,

As if never there to begin with,

Now a ghost to taunt me,

The eyes watching,

Staring in silence,

A cold crown gently placed on my head,

Lighter than the burden that it carries,

They watch,

Oblivious to the invisible weight placed on my shoulders,

A symphony,

Distant as I was lost in my thoughts,

Echoing in the back of my mind,

Along with my past reflection,

A tempting place to escape,

To finally be free,

To finally be free from the chains of honor.
