Resolved, A Change, and New Beginnings of Melinda
Life has its ups and downs
But one way of seeing it
Is thinking that there are ways that
things will get better
All must come and go
But one thing is for sure…
Is to let go
Let it all go
The day of the party
Days of fears
Moments of depression
Being the “prey” of Andy Evans
Terrified of speaking
If not,
Am I ever gonna get better?
Getting stronger all must take courage
By taking that first step
Through art, learning, and speaking
My positive transformations to make it up till now of
finally telling somebody about the rape
The remembrance of the tree
The remembrance of the past
But hey
Look at me go!
Look at me change!
For the perfect moment
For the perfect time
Saying goodbye to those worries
Goodbye to those pains,
Misery, and finally, Andy Evans
Mr. Freeman, my art teacher
You have given me the chance to grow by
The significance of the tree
The opportunity to use art as emotions
And to find my voice through all these aspects
Thank you…
Ohh my life
To the past self that has been though
But one thing that has changed…
I wish that I was with you
Day by day
To my dearest past self
I apologize for all you’ve been through
Again, I wished to be with you
…Like how I am now, from letting go of the past
Moment by moment
Each path goes by
But don’t forget…
All must get better
Hour by hour
I hear you, I see you,
And I’m with you now
But believe me
There is a time for us to be resolved…
Second by Second
My presence is with you
Dear past self, don’t go
Please hear me now…
Life does get better
Once you’ll see in one day
There will be a change for new beginnings
Past self of old Melinda,
One day you will have the courage and strength of your voice
like how I am talking to you
Just wait, believe, be strong as the tree
And you’ll see…
No more seeing yourself as unworthy of love
No more biting on the lips
No more seeing a broken image of self
No more scratching on the wrist
Just have hope
Life is full of hard moments that may be challenging
However, it’s about learning from them
by speaking and letting it go
Perhaps even trying speaking to the past self
or to someone
Each person has their own paths
Of their own journey
Of their own life
But it takes the courage, strength, and voice of one
to choose the right one
The past must be let go
Never good to hold within
because we cannot change the past
The future will always be a mystery
Forever to be unknown and unpredictable
The present is what makes us live in the moment
of ourselves which is the focus
Bad moments in life cannot define us
But we can always change that
By letting things go from the past
And always start from the beginning…
Never be afraid to speak
