Pine Tree
You are you,
you are enough.
You don’t need someone to pick you up and carry you around all the time,
like a two year old toddler who’s just learning to walk yet prefers to be held.
But it’s okay for someone to hold your hand.
You have a body that needs to be taken care of,
every single second of the day.
Think of yourself as a big pine tree;
You are born from a seed in the ground that grows overtime.
You need water and food and sunlight to keep you alive.
In time, some of the needles may fall off,
just like you may have some off days.
But you still have thousands of needles left,
you still have thousands of good days left.
Value those needles,
take care of yourself to keep your needles.
Sometimes the most simple tasks can be difficult.
Count to three, or five, or ten,
and do that not-so-simple task.
Don’t let your mind and your body become something
you don’t want it to be.
It’s okay to ask for help,
especially if you’re too exhausted to be fully independent.
Find some time to take some moments for yourself,
even if it’s for as short as a bathroom break.
Breathe in,
breathe out.
Look at your beautiful golden self,
and tell yourself that you will be okay.
Remind yourself that you are worth it.
Remind yourself that you matter in God’s big little blue and green globe.
Find the happiness you want to keep in your life forever,
hold onto it,
it’s yours to keep.
Brush yourself off,
calm your nerves,
and get back on your feet to be the best and only version of yourself.
