Every week brings a new fixation;
Every week brings a new loss.
Is it strange to want affection?
Is it strange to need to talk?
Is it strange to be willing
To give up myself?
To give up my life, my body,
In hopes of gaining someone else?
To give up it all
In hopes that this number might stay,
Not for love or for pity,
but for their addiction to my trade?
