Thou art a mirror

Thou shine upon others 

for they are more important then thee

Hiding away who thou may be

Thou art a picture

Showing those who wish to see

The beauties in life 

But not for thou to see

Thou does not cry

For thou must be strong

Thou does not play in mud

For thou must be clean

I ask you this

Who is thou supposed to be?

Is thou supposed to be a mirror?

No.

Is thou to be a picture?

No. 

Is thou allowed to be who they are?

No.

Then who is thou?

Thou is a mess.

Thou is ugly.

Thou is stupid.

But that is not thou.

Thou is strong.

Thou is kind.

Thou is who they want to be.

But this city won’t let them be.

And so I ask of thee,

Let thou be.

Let thou be who they want to be

Let them soar

Let them cry

Let them play in the mud

Thou is a person.

Not a mirror.

Not a picture.
