Crush
First, I stubbed my toe
I was coming through the room when I saw you
And I ran into the door
Later, I heard your voice,
The sound of it made my head throb
The ache lasted two whole hours
That very next day, I cut open my knee
I had been running to catch up to you when I tripped and fell
After a week, the scratch healed and yet
I couldn’t stop picking the scab
