Why do I hide from the ones I love?
I feel as if I’m stuck in a cove
With no one to love
With my heart a million miles away
And I don’t know how to say:
Why does the ice in my heart grow?
Why can’t I just let go?
The water laps at the edges of the cove
I just watched as a bird dove
Reminding me that no one wants to be near
Even my love, my dear
I feel as though I’m ripped in two
Who is that, who?
I matter
But, my life is in tatters
