Oreos and Morning Moon

Oreo cookies and morning moons—

Cracking open cream and loving the chocolate shell better

For all its dark biscuit nakedness.

I love the ridges of Oreos while watching

Morning moon shines on the skirts of pink horizons

On Saturdays when the day’s chess pieces

Are all set out with lots of Oreos on the table.

Morning moon's trilling

Oreo cake so thrilling—

It’s hard to say for sure

Which one I can love more.

It doesn't have to say anything. It just is love.
