The Pain of a Slave

August 10, 2021
By Anonymous

I am a slave

Come and save

What can’t move

What needs to be soothed

I choose to love

But when I do I get shoved

So I am now full of hatred

Just like all the other creations

And now the only thing I do

Is pretend that my life will magically change

Like I will suddenly find the missing glue

Like I could escape this horrific cage

This poem is about being feeling hopeless and trying to find something to make life worthwhile. The doubts, indecision, helplessness filling you when there is no escape.

The universe must be a teenage girl. So much darkness, so many stars.<br /> --me

Very harrowing picture of human nature.
