Precipitation
Snowflakes are soft and delicate
wandering aimlessly through the air.
They are peaceful; but purposeless
warm and happy, but also passionless and bitter.
One original and odd snowflake at a time
combining with millions of others,
all coating the once dewy lawn
in a chaotic dance that ends calmly and orderly
in a blanket of white.
~
Ice is cruel and unforgiving.
A harsh sheet of heavy frozen water
laying still on a concrete sidewalk.
Until
it
isn’t.
Slowly the ice turns to a puddle;
Leaving all and any clues that it was even there.
It was there until it wasn’t.
