My Dog
My dog Stella
She was born down south
Unwanted and unloved
She made her long trip up north
To join my family and fit like a glove
4 legs and a wet nose
How could I guess
Would make such an impression
On our family and all the guests
She has settled in so nicely in our hearts and our home
She is now part of the family
She will now never be alone
A guard of our home and tribe
She is sweet but protective
From the day we rescued her
She has been nothing but acceptive
I am thankful for my gentle girl
And happy to give her a new life
A warm couch to take naps on
And a life without strife
So thank you sweet Stella
For all that you do
Although I will continue to ask
Who really rescued who?
