Still Standing
Beaten down,
On the ground,
Fallen from grace.
The world has spun out of control,
I am falling down a hole.
Down I fall, down I fall,
To the bottom.
The wind whispers harsh words.
The turbulence drags me under.
The thunder crashes around me
While rivers flow from my eyes.
The lower I go, the worse it gets.
I cannot see an end.
Lower still, Lower still
I keep on falling.
I fear it will get worse.
The darkness surrounds me.
But as darkness surrounds me,
The light begins to flow in.
I am shielded from the wind.
I stand against the turbulence
I quiet the thunder in my head
I stand strong
Standing strong, standing strong,
I can face the world
