Freedom
Waking up to crickets and bird calls.
The rising sun shimmering off the dew covered grass into my tent,
I unzip my temporary home,
alone
away from my life.
Looking into the endless lines of trees,
untouched by man.
Sitting next to a river, staring,
I have nothing but time.
Seeing views that no one has ever seen,
because I am free.
Life’s stresses wash away
as I swim in a lake only animals know about.
My destination looking small in the distance,
a summit days away.
No deadlines
No schedules
No concerns
I have escaped
