Never Shall I Forget
Never shall I forget that evening watching the sunset
The first evening
Never shall I forget how we got lost in the eyes of each other
When we held hands
Time is endless when we are together
Never shall I forget the ukulele
The sounds the uke made
Never shall I forget the pure, dulcet, and melodic harmony
Which made me feel safe and secure
A different sense of security
Never shall I forget the daisies
The smell of the rain in the air
Never shall I forget that flowers grow through a storm
Which smells floral, fresh, and delightful
Never shall I forget that yellow dress
Of which was made from commitment
Never shall I forget the threads that held on to each other
To create beauty and strength that felt silky and smooth
But torn apart by lies that felt like needles, poking and puncturing
Never shall I forget these lovely little things
Even though she’s gone
I still look up the word “love”
To understand what it truly means
But I may never know now
Because she is with another man.
