I was the lone stone at the bottom of a pond
I am the lilypad protruding from the surface
I was the shoe at the bottom of the bin
I am now standing strong as the kingpin
I was the bruised fruit that went untouched
I am the most ripe orange atop the tree
I was as useful as sunglasses with no lenses
I am the escalator in a crowded NYC mall
I was the deer cowering in a tiger pen
I am the tiger in search of venison
I was someone who I wish to not be again
I am now the person who controls the pen
