All of the Lights
Sunlight. Streetlights. Flashlights. Headlights. City lights. Tower lights.
I could be surrounded by lights forever. They make me feel inspired- surrounded by bustling people, like there is activity going on around me and things to be doing. I could get lost staring into the soul of a light.
I love to lay in the sun, close my eyes, and feel its rays pounding on my browning face, pretending I am soaring through the sky.
Street lights sound like silence- a painting. I imagine myself walking a vacant street centuries ago and all is at peace in my world.
Flashlights. I can hear the sound of my dad’s voice as he howls for the dogs that roam the vast woods and the banging of his walking stick as we march through the trees behind my old house.
Tower lights. I want to be at the highest peak of that tower. I want to be in a dark studio, dancing to my favorite orchestral piece Arrival of the Birds, moonlight squeaking its way in the room between the windowsills and the barres, just enough to give me light to where my next step will be.
Headlights. To me they sound like music. I have somewhere to be, someone that I love that I need to see, and I listen to the music that makes my heart beat faster as it reminds me of them. Or maybe, I am just in the mood for a long drive with no destination.
People’s shoulders brisk mine as I walk quickly along the sidewalk, gazing up to read the street signs as I need to be at work on time. City lights make me feel welcome, full of life and laughter, as there are all sorts of people that come from everywhere, all circulating around me and each has their own story to share, or goal to achieve, perspective on life. I want to be a part of it.

I have always loved lights- all types of lights. This was a fun way to express that and the reasons why they are so meaningful to me and give me so much life.
