You’re vibrant

The color of yellow

You smile and laugh every day

You are thriving

But before you know it

Swoosh

You are dark and blue

You only wear frown’s

Your realm is falling apart

And you’re sitting alone at the lunch table

Eating away the feelings

You only say words when requested

Because you have nothing else to say

You have lonely nights and lonely days

Lonely

Lonely

Lonely

That is all you are

That is all you feel

Do not try to blame others

Because this is your fault

Your problem to endure

A sad and depressing world

For yourself to live in

And it gets really scary in this life

The thoughts that go through your head

Most do not understand

The lonely road you’re on

The only solution to this mess you have created

Is to crawl yourself out of the crater you have dug

This poem represents what I did to myself my freshman year of high school. I was not in a good mind set that year and because of that I isolated myself. I had zero friends and all I did was eat. I gained a large amount of weight that year and was severely depressed. I did not care for myself at all. This poem is supposed to be a warning to others about what happens when you isolate yourself. I feel like I was able to write a good poem with a lot of strength because of the personal experience. It has been a battle getting myself out of that lonely “crater” I dug and I have made it to a better place.
