At first, it was bright

The sun had made the sand hot 

And the water had a bright blue hue 

The kids were laughing and the parents smiling 

The fish were swimming and the crabs were walking 

Life was good it was simpler back then 

But it was better in my memory 

When I came back after the hurricane hit 

The water was gray, no children were smiling 

No parents were laughing 

The sand became cold and the fish were all dead 

Clouds covered the sky and the rain had began 

The waters were rough and the currents were fast 

I wish I never came back, it was better in the past
