Florida
Late night-- when no one
else is awake I
climb out the small window
above my bed
onto my roof-- and sit
so still, and just listen,
I hear the train in the distance--
everything
is calm. It’s cold out
but I don’t mind
I am at peace
up here by myself.
I am alone tonight
and that’s fine.
I don’t mind the quietness,
I’ve learn to enjoy
just being by myself and
in the moment--
until I have to climb
back into real life again.
