I remember
I remember sitting on the kitchen table every night while he cooked dinner.
I remember sitting on a side chair while he did his work and gave me jobs.
I remember on sick days be would bring me medicine to comfort me.
I remember trips, vacations, and cruises.
I remember hospital trips.
I remember pulling up chairs in icu next to him, telling him about my days.
I remember the chemo and the medicine.
I remember hearing his last word, his last breath, his last heartbeat.
I remember him.
