Compassion
Compassion
I hate that word
It rings in my ears
Louder than any bell
Its often people’s biggest tell
You might be kind
But most likely blind
To the meaning of passion
It’s something everlastin’
Its a fire that evaporates the rain
A tire fixed tightly with the frame
It can’t be stopped or moved
Even topped nor misused
Let me be honest
I really am sorry
I’m sorry my smile wasn’t so warm today
I usually mourn this way
I lost a friend yesterday
And you think you hate needles
But I turn
My straight face
Into a resentful mirror
A tire gone loose
A fire gone out
The smoke clears
Yet none of us look in shame
