Being together,
Trust and honesty is all they give me
With
laughter.
hard work.
love.
and tears.
Mi familia, you built me up.
Enjoying life,
The tiniest things becomes a fiesta
From,
The música.
The baile.
To the comida.
They know how to brighten things up
Mi familia, you built me up.
Even when things aren't good
Living in fear wondering when they'd have to leave
It's not fair
But I know life isn't fair
And that's okay.
Mi familia, you built me up.
Things will change soon
And soon enough there won't be fear to give.
Los amo.
And that’s all we need,
wherever we may be.

My poem means a lot to me. I'm always writing about my family and the unique struggles we have on a day to day basis like, immigration, oppresion, discrimination. Despite all of those challenges, my family is always pushing ahead with smiles on their faces.
