A young black female,

                                                                          Brave, Loyal, and Smart, 

                                                                            When you look at me,

                                                                          Black, Weak,and Stupid,

                                                                            When I look at myself,

                                                                           I see a flower blooming

                                                                                    I am a lion, 

                                                                               Loud and Strong,

                                                                             Proud and Carefree,

                                                                           I am a peacock standing out

                                                                           In a crowd of chickens,

                                                                           Different from the rest,

                                                                          Am I perfect?, No, no one is,

                                                                         I am a baby bird learning to fly,

                                                                              I am not like the rest,

                                                                              But i will try my best,

                                                                         Giving it my all to pass any test,     

                                                                       I am always reminded to at least try,

                                                                       I am proud to know what I  became,
