A Cookie Metaphor
I’ll put up a front
Put on a show
As a tough cookie
baked too long
No soft inside
No sweet chocolate chips
Only bitter burnt
Though I guess it’s a shell
cover up conspiracy
Well the cookie crumbles
So do I
A real cookie
a little undercooked
The outer ring is a bit burnt too
So as to scare
All the nosy Nelly's away
By these burn stains
cover my outer frame
Though outside appearances
Are only
Dough deep
