Beads of a Bracelet
Around my oval wrist wraps,
beads together by a string,
the ends tied in a tight knot.
The red beads,
are pristine.
Bright with gloss
and letters that
spell out your
initials.
C❤️G
is how it lies
and everyday
I will look down
my heart skips beats.
One day I worry
that the string will break,
all the beads will fall,
one by one they go,
bouncing off the floor
scattering around,
under the dresser,
deep into the white carpet.
and off the trim of the flooring.
There is always one,
that goes unnoticed,
rolling and rolling
under crevices
only to be found.
Til decades later.
