An Athletes Pride

When the going gets tough,
pride picks an athlete up.
When going get easy,
pride pushes an athlete further.
Pride defines an athlete.
Pride is a rare quality,
taking every advantage.
Never backing down,
never letting up.
Pride builds true character.
Pride is standing tall,
in the face of unmeasurable odds.
Never showing off in victory,
always being humble.
Never showing defeat,
even when he is beat.
Pride is what makes an athlete,
so much different than the rest.
Pride pushes an athlete to their limits,
to make them the best.
An athlete’s pride can never be broken.
