Versions of You
There are a million versions of you
There is you, laughing in a sun kissed field while picking flowers
There is you, crying into my shoulder the night that tragedy made us feel numb
There is you, clinging onto my arms because you were afraid of what the future held
My mind is flooded with memories of every version of you that I’ve encountered
Every version is a piece of the complex person that you are
I hope to know you long enough
I hope to love you long enough
I hope I’m in your life long enough so I can meet every version there is of you,
All one million of them
And I know
That each one will be more beautiful than the last
