Dianna
The skips aren't enough to fool me.
The skips aren't enough to fool me.
The skips aren't enough to fool me from
Her;
And those skips?
They’re not enough.
(All-too-evident
marches of violence.)
I wouldn’t fall for it.
The skin too light,
the wick of a candle.
Hair too dark,
everlasting shadow.
Lips too red,
stained with lies.
I wouldn't fall for it.
(Light the candle.)
The skips are a falsehood
(The lies.)
concealing
(Bring the light.)
the gleam of the barrel
She is War.
She is Peril.
I wouldn't fall for it.
They wouldn’t listen,
so when it went boom…
Silence.
The skips weren’t enough to fool me.
It seems that I was right.

I like to think that Dianna is my version of war personified. I'll leave the rest of the thinking up to the reader.
