Love: A Downward Spiral
Love converts to hate
Instantaneously.
Love is like glass,
Fragile yet gleaming with beauty,
But not crystal clear and can break right before your eyes.
You love with all you have.
Caring so fiercely.
Doing anything for your beloved.
Spending endless time together.
Learning everything about one another.
Flaws and insecurities.
Likes and dislikes.
You become so comfortable,
that is when things start to change.
You start going through the motions.
Your heart is kicking you,
telling you it’s time to let go.
Time to move on.
But you don’t want to hurt her,
so you stay.
You may not have left physically,
but mentally you have checked out.
Your character has changed.
You have started lying and cheating.
Treating her like gum on the bottom of your shoe.
The man she once loved is gone.
Changed forever,
and not for the better.
Then the inevitable happens…
Love turns into hate.
Hate is a forest fire,
burning and overtaking your body.
She hates you so much, she would rather die than see your face.
Not caring if you are alive
or dead.
Not wishing you well.
Letting go forever.
Love fades into darkness.
Hate comes to light.
