Lost in The Sea

The lights so white
it made me ache,
lost
in this sea
the sea of people.
I couldn't hear her words
over the wails and screams.
"Don't leave me," She had said.
A loud crack
the room suddenly so silent.
weeping boys and girls,
I did not want to let her go,
the edge pulled
our hands apart.
I screamed.
"Don't leave me," she repeated.
