The Road Ahead
You think you're safe
Running down the sidewalk of life
Not worried about anything bad that might happen
Until you trip over a crack
Too caught up in all the good things to come
You don't feel the ground shake under you
You don't hear it crack
You don't notice until everything,
Your entire life
Is crumpled around you
Into a thousand pieces
No amount of glue could fix it
You’ll get over it
It’ll get better
But you can’t stop focusing on now
You won’t get over it
And you can’t see how it’d ever get better,
But honestly,
How could it possibly get any worse?
