Home. Vacation. Friends.
I am from a painted house, white on a wooded lane,
red white and blue out front and trees and flowers in the yard,
Smelling the aroma of smoked meats in the air.
I am from 12 hour car rides in a white car stopping only for food,
hours at a time, driving west to see the country,
Looking for nature’s beauty from the awe inspiring peaks to powerful water flows.
I am from injuries,
broken arms and bleeding heads, from itchiness,
Healing from surgery and hospital stay like filling a pothole in the road.
I am from trips with friends doing anything to be together,
to fast food joints and up north retreats,
Making the best of summer time enjoying the days we have left.
