The Zone
I pledge my allegiance to you
because, all I wanted was you
I still remember that moment
I saw it wasn’t you.
That night feelings no longer grew
I heard my phone ding, from you
It read sorry, you’re not sought out for me
because all you wanted was a friend
we came to an end, as the sky changed its hue
from pink to black my heart changed in parallel
The change felt so sudden
If you blink during heartbreak
You might just miss it
left feeling empty
mind filled, with empty thoughts
how it was the perfect day and everything changed.
