Tempest
I know not from whence the tempest swirls,
Or how it came to be;
I only know from where it came,
From deep inside of me.
I long for light, I long for love, I long for summer’s breeze.
I hope, I pray, I wish the day that I can finally breathe.
I know not from whence the tempest swirls,
I only know it’s sorrow,
It goes on and on, unceasing yet
Into a new tomorrow.
And faster met, with deep regret,
I’m dragged into its clasp
I know not from whence the tempest swirls,
I know not when it shall end,
Yet I dream the day that I can say
I want a new tomorrow.
