The first friday of June was celebrated enthusiastically by the people of the west end.

‘Portland Festival’ tagged on facebook by boomers.

‘Portland Festival’ screamed the adrenaline-junkie children.

‘Portland Festival’ laughed the motorcycle club members.

The streets littered with spilled beer and cigarette ashes.

Celebratory summer bashes,

Peeled and scratched lotto tickets.

The lower class blue-collar workers partying through the thick of it.

East enders not welcomed, but blocked.

Motorcycle club members held guns, cocked.

The gentrification will be no more,

The sore thumb is walked out the door.

The thumping stereo rumble the streets.

BOOM! AC/DC cover bands loud.

BOOM! Guns ‘n Roses cover bands proud.

BOOM! Rowdy hardcore bands found.

News cameras shining.

Judging- Beer brining.

They hear us, but they don’t HEAR US.

Fining.
