I won’t relinquish you for the world
That big puzzle we all procure to our graves before we leave this world,
For that, only few pieces out of millions are matched together.
Your piece that you brought with you from afar,
Fits itself with my emptiness and creates an inconceivable bigger picture.
We started at different ends of the cobweb,
Which fate connected together for us before the existence of time.
It is up to us whether to erect the threads, or to eradicate them.
I’ll give my full promise that I won’t relinquish you for the world.
Leaving without you seems wrong,
Taking you with me makes me feel flawed.
Branching away from your presence seems impossible,
Like two magnetic forces facing their conflicting counterparts.
Like our world moves around the Sun,
We push closer and we pull apart,
There are no doubts that our equinoxes will align at one point,
I’ll give my full promise that I won’t relinquish you for the world.

I wrote this poem for a best friend of mine that I lost, due to us drifting apart.
