A Brand New Kind of Electricity
When I was taught electricity, I was in a Science class.
I was taught bulbs and batteries.
I was taught wires and currents and sockets.
But when I met you,
I was taught a brand new kind of electricity.
One you can't learn in any class.
It isn't bulbs or batteries.
It isn't wires or currents or sockets.
It is us.
It is my tingling fingertips and my butterfly-filled stomach when you're around.
It is your sweaty palms when we hold hands and your crinkled nose when we laugh.
It is the shock of your lips pressed against mine when no one is watching.
When I was taught electricity, I wasn't taught you and me.
but..
now that I'm with you..
That's the only kind of electricity I know.
