Ice cream cones, hands covered in the sugared stickiness 
Jump ropes fraying at the edges ready to go snap one jump two jumps snap 
Chalk and concrete and how a summer rain makes the paintings bleed 
Baseballs lost in the woods behind your house 
Fence drawn up not down 
Bedroom door locked from the inside not coming out 
Who are you to judge a child when they realize they are no longer children? When a teenager is born a child dies when an adult is born a teenager and a child dies this is the cycle of things a ticking clock repeating again and again
