Teenager
Bubblegum
Sparklers fizzing our
Soda cans tip over shaken until they are about to explode
Ice cream cones, hands covered in the sugared stickiness
Jump ropes fraying at the edges ready to go snap one jump two jumps snap
Chalk and concrete and how a summer rain makes the paintings bleed
Baseballs lost in the woods behind your house
Fence drawn up not down
Bedroom door locked from the inside not coming out
Who are you to judge a child when they realize they are no longer children? When a teenager is born a child dies when an adult is born a teenager and a child dies this is the cycle of things a ticking clock repeating again and again
