The door swings open and shut

and the coffee shop becomes lifeless

as she begins her journey back home

he stealthily becomes her shadow

in the lackluster of the night where she is blind

After countless nights of befriending the beast

the once ferocious dog now joyfully wags his tail at his sight

as he enters her yard

Lacking the pride of a lion or tiger

he stalks his prey for hours

but fails to attack this tranquil deer

He retreats back to his den
