Mirror
Look in the mirror
What do you see?
Grab the shadows
Grab the powders
Look in the mirror
What do you see?
Grab the straightener
Grab the hairspray
Look in the mirror
What do you see?
Grab the perfume
Change the outfit
Look in the mirror
What do you see?
Someone who’s happy?
Someone who’s sad?
Someone who is getting ready to face the day.

This piece is supposed to represent the topic of how many people see themselves and choose to get ready. I wanted to keep the poem up to interpretation to the reader to decide whether the person getting ready is happy about how they look or are they struggling with self esteem and want to change themselves.
