New Girl

The new girl,
But she’s been here
her whole life.
Stuck here
sntil now.
Senior year begins,
dreading going back,
leaving a summer of achievements,
travel and friends.
She’s scared,
alone.
She made a decision
to live,
to thrive.
And so, she did.
She walks the halls
confident.
She talks with
purpose.
She learns to
listen.
She changed, she’s new
although she’s been here.
Now she thrives here.
Now she achieves here.
The new girl.
The confident girl.
The strong girl.
She’s here.
