Cotton Candy Clouds
The first sign of light,
Breaks the horizon,
Basking the world,
In an orange glow.
Cotton candy clouds,
Roll out across the heavens,
Giving a new perspective,
To the things we know well.
Trees and houses,
Suddenly become,
Silhouettes to the tangerine sunrise,
Spreading over our world.
For a fleeting moment,
The newborn rays consume us,
Stopping us in our tracks,
Making us forget all imperfections.
And for that fleeting moment,
We feel peace,
The wrong in our world is gone,
And we feel relief we have been aching to feel.
And then that moment is over,
The peace is gone and wrong restores,
And the cotton candy clouds,
Disperse along the horizon.
