Broken Dreams
In a bag with broken seams, I found a piece of glass
It contained my hopes and dreams, shattering with a crash

The jagged shards pierced my heart, some too small to see
Ripped my soul, tore it apart; taking my dreams from me

In the fragments, I saw a face; a dead girl walking
Hallowed eyes, no dreams to chase; nothing left, never talking

Then one day she came along, my eyes lit up again
She told me, “You must stay strong, things will work out in the end.”

So I picked up the pieces and glued them together,
Feeling my hope increase, as my best friend reassured me,

 “Your dreams will never cease.”
