Ballad of Empty Chairs
The table feels so quiet now,
Where voices once would sing,
The laughter echoes faint and low,
A ghost of everything.
The chairs sit still, the nights grow long,
Their faces fade from view,
Yet in my chest their love burns on,
A flame that won’t undo.
I count the stars and whisper names,
Each one a tender prayer,
Though heaven holds them far away,
Their memory fills the air.
Oh time may steal, and death may claim,
But love will never part,
For all I lost still lives in me,
A chorus in my heart.
