Ballad of Mors
I long to see beyond her veil
Her pearls shine like the morning
I dream of taking a carriage ride off into her sunset trail
Heading west and yearning
I want to buy her a farm planted with poppies in the field
And some daisies for the yard
I wish to sleep in the soft dirt and count the worms in the ground concealed
I’ll be called home to her regard
A pomegranate tree lives within the Forest
For her, I’ll pick every seed alone
Bittersweet Holly berries I’ll forage
The remaining seeds will be dried and grown
winter begins beneath the elms and cypresses
I know I have to rake up her daisies and clovers
And poppies will be covered in winter’s last breath
The candles’ warmth is frosted over
