A day in the Woods
We were walking through trees so tall it seemed like they were competing to be the first to touch the clouds. As we looked through the gaps left from the branches spreading their leaves across the sky, we felt small, standing in the middle of the woods that held trees that were here long before we were even a twinkle in our parent’s eyes. I stifled a gasp as a family of deer passed by us without even giving us a single glance, totally unafraid. We were no longer in our world filled with houses, cars, and roads--we were in their territory now. Excitement flooded my veins, and I wondered what else did these woods have in store for us?
